 Mark Mathews was born and raised in Sydney’s Maroubra. Proudly wears the Bra Boys tattoo. Powerful naturalfooter. Once hated big-waves, but now loves them. Considered one of the planet’s premier watermen and big-wave riders. Weighs 76 kilograms, but his big-wave riding feats suggest he’s made of concrete. Caught the wave of the day during the 2007 Hawaiian Monster Energy Pro at Pipeline. Won the 2009 Oakley Big Wave Awards for his 45-foot Western Australian behemoth.
